Q&A with Shauna Mackey
Q: How long have you been going to NCBC and when did you join?
A: I have been coming to NCBC since last August when I came back to Gainesville for grad school. I joined officially a few months ago!
Q: Where are you from?
A: South Florida! Fort-Lauderdale area
Q: Hamburger or a Chicken?
A: Chicken — I was actually raised a vegetarian and didn’t have my first hamburger until I was 13!
Q: Where’s the first place you sang?
A: My mom told me I sang all the time as a baby but the first time “professionally” was age 4 in a children’s theatre performance of Wizard of Oz.
Q: Favorite song of all time?
A: Oh that is a reaalllly tough one. I really love “Oceans” by Hillsong United because it’s a huge part of my testimony and Taya Smith is just outstanding.
Q: When did you get saved?
A: God had been pursuing me for a while, but it wasn’t until fall of 2017 that I gave Him lordship over my life.
Q Favorite hobby?
A: Oh I have tons of random hobbies but I love doing anything creative like filming and editing videos to painting. I’m also a sprint triathlete!
Q: Favorite place you worked?
A: “Coolest” would be NBC television station, but my true favorite job was working in a hospital on the inpatient rehab unit because I was really able to see God working in people’s lives, talk about Jesus, and share some really miraculous moments with patients during their recovery process.
Q: Person you would like to meet most?
A: Other than the obvious answer of wanting to meet my Creator, I would love to meet (as a pair) Justin Timberlake and Jimmy Fallon because they seem to have a blast together. I love the musical comedy sketches they do together and there’s nothing like a good ol’ laugh.
Q: Favorite scripture?
A: For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith — and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God — not by works, so that no one can boast. Ephesians 2:8-9
