Dear Church Family,
We celebrate the glorious resurrection of Jesus on April 4, 2021! What a glorious day this will be. I want to encourage you to begin inviting folks to be with you on this special day of worship. We will have 2 morning services, one at 8:15 and one at 10:45am, and we will baptize in the 10:45am service. Call the church if you would like to be baptized. We will have a fellowship time with refreshments from 9:15-9:45am with Life Groups beginning their teaching at 9:45am on this day. We will have children’s Easter Egg hunts beginning at 9:30am in Life Groups. Please be on the lookout for special business card size invitation cards to use when inviting others. These cards have a map on the back and all the appropriate information for coming to this special Sunday.
Studies have shown that many will visit churches on Easter but will not come back. We have felt led to give them a reason to come back! We call these special events “C4” events. C4 stands for Connecting our Community to Christ and His Church! (Do you see the 4 C’s?) On April 11 we will have our special service called “One Week Later” which helps to answer the question, “How should we respond to the truth of Easter?” This is a great service with scripture readings and testimonies and it’s a great Sunday to invite folks. The next event will be Orange Bucket Sunday on April 18. We will give out the Orange Buckets on Easter Sunday and ask folks to fill them with nonperishable food that will be distributed throughout the county to children who need it. Food 4 Kids, a local organization, helps us get these foods into the right families and children’s hands who need them. Thank you for your generosity in giving to this wonderful cause and for inviting your unchurched friends to participate. Often unchurched folks have a desire to be involved in the community and this event gives them that opportunity! On April 25, we will have a Morning of Worship. I will preach the gospel on this day, and we will have extended worship opportunities through music for our people. Our own worship team will participate along with special guest Michael O’Brien. Michael has such a heart for Jesus and is so gifted musically. He will really encourage us on this special day!
Don’t miss the March 17, North Central Midweek Connect! This is a time of fellowship for our church family on Wednesday night. We haven’t really been together on a Wednesday night in a long time so now we have this opportunity. We will serve David’s BBQ from 6pm to 6:30pm and then there will be 6 or 7 major events that our children will be able to participate in, and adults will have opportunities too. You will not want to miss the fellowship! And great food!
I want to ask you to pray about something very important. Our federal House of Representatives has sent legislation to the United States Senate they are calling the Equality Act. It is not anything related to equality. There are some extreme ramifications that will change our society as we know it. It runs the risk of challenging religious liberty issues and, if passed, could affect our own North Central family. I encourage you to look at the following links to educate yourselves on this proposed law. It is dangerous in my view and should be opposed. Read the article by John Stonestreet (click here), who is the president of the Colson Center, and listen to the podcast of Dr. Albert Mohler (click here), who is the President of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. I encourage you to contact our Senators, Marco Rubio and Rick Scott and share your concerns with them. We certainly do not want this legislation passed.
It is a joy to be your Pastor. Last Sunday it felt as if heaven came down. People professing faith in Jesus, people coming for prayer, people joining with us! What a joy!
I love you in the Lord,
