Dear church family,
I’m writing this article following our tremendous effort entitled “Love Loud” in which our church family divided up into 5 different ministry teams to love our community. What a blessing it was to each who served. It is always a treasure to serve Jesus!
We want to welcome our new staff members to the North Central family. Lee Anne Privette is our new Preschool Director. She comes to us having been a member of the preschool team for many years. She knows the preschoolers and their parents. She has a Masters Degree in Education. I am thrilled to have her on our team. Her husband Michael is helping us on the Worship team. Their sweet daughter is Abby. Please welcome them to the staff.
Allison Harris is our new Children’s Director. She also teaches first grade at Hidden Oak Elementary. Allison has a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Florida. She has faithfully served in our church for many years. I appreciate her amazing heart for the elementary students—your children—at North Central. Please welcome her to our staff.
Robert Privette is heading up our Worship Arts Ministry. He is one of the most gifted worship leaders I’ve ever been around. Sunday when we sang “Victory in Jesus,” “I’ll Fly Away” and “When I Survey the Wondrous Cross,” it was apparent to me that not only does Robert love the new and contemporary music, but he knows the value of the great, powerful hymns of the faith as well. These are the great songs that we teach our little ones in our Children’s Choirs. Robert has enlisted a great team to help him:
Kelly Pleil will use her amazing musical talent to help us with keyboards and choir rehearsals. Michael Privette, Robert’s brother, will make major musical contributions (he plays more instruments than you can imagine!) and will help do many of the administrative tasks as well. We are truly blessed with our Worship Team. Please welcome each of these folks.
Walt Darty is over our Facility Maintenance. He is taking a tremendous load off of me by coordinating and maintaining our buildings and grounds. He and Stacy have just moved over to Gainesville from Keystone Heights where Walt was the Athletic Director at Keystone Heights High School. He comes with much experience in this area. Welcome Walt to our staff.
Pray for us as we search for a full-time Associate Pastor with major responsibilities in our Youth area. We must bathe this process in prayer.
I am beginning a new series of Bible studies on the book of Psalms. “Real Help for Real People” is the title. You don’t want to miss the fantastic truths that we find in the Psalms.
Please be praying for our college students who are doing mission work this Summer. We have teams going to East Asia, Germany, Mexico, and Pacific coast. God is on the move in our church.
I need you to go to Cuba with me September 24 through October 1st of this year. We will help reach people for Christ as we reach children and adults. We will also do some construction for the church there. Our first deposit of $300 is due May 15th to reserve your spot on this strategic trip. Please pray about going with me.
I am looking for 6 locations in our community to reach out to families for a 5 day “Good News Club”. We will offer these clubs one location per week for 6 weeks during the summer. I have college students who will train our High Schoolers to reach out here locally as Summer Missionaries. If you can host a location where children will be invited to join in, please contact Janna Davis in the church office.
Mark the Summer Night fellowship events on your summer calendar. Below, you will find the listing of special events for the summer. We are going to have a special time together.
What a joy to see people joining and meeting Jesus as Savior! We look forward to our annual Beach Baptism on Sunday afternoon, May 29th at 5 PM at Frank Butler Park at beautiful Crescent Beach.
