Real Change: Easter meets Everyday life

I’m writing this article just a few days before our Easter Service. There is so much anticipation for this special time of the year. We are thankful for the wonderful and powerful truth that Jesus is alive. He has risen to change our lives! But how is our life changed by the resurrection? I’m preaching a series of Bible Studies entitled: Real Change: Easter meets Everyday Life, to help us answer the question of how the resurrection can impact us in a practical way. Don’t miss one of these special services.

Bob Tebow will be preaching in our morning service on Sunday, April 7. Kelly and I have known the Tebows for nearly twenty-five years. Long before they came into the limelight, based on Tim’s athletic success, they were faithfully serving the Lord Jesus. They are the same now as they were then. Bob is a passionate preacher of the gospel, having preached primarily in the Philippines, but also now in many other countries. I know of no one more zealous to get the gospel to people. I’m grateful that he is willing to come here to preach, knowing how many opportunities he has. I encourage you to take advantage of this special opportunity by inviting someone who needs Jesus to be with you.

April 14—Our Worship Arts Ministry will be presenting the mini-musical, “God of the Ages”. I will share from the Scripture following their presentation about the Creator’s love for all people and His provision for Man’s sins. Please invite others to be with you on this special day.

April 21—Orange Bucket Sunday is an opportunity for us to reach out and touch families in our community. On Easter and for the following two weeks you can get an Orange bucket to fill with food stuffs that will be used to help our Hidden Oak Elementary families and any others in our community that need food for the summer. Bring your filled bucket on the 21st and bring it to the front of our auditorium before our 10am worship service. This food contribution gives us a way to do something tangible to make a difference for Christ in our community.

April 28—Don’t miss breakfast in every Bible Study group. Plug into a Sunday School group and participate in this fabulous breakfast on this very special morning.

We have two incredible Christian Life University classes being offered beginning April 7 at 4:45pm in the New Educational Building. Shepherding a Child’s Heart is a wonderful parenting class that is video based but also incorporates discussion. Malcolm and Dee Privette will lead this discussion and will share from their heart regarding principles that have allowed them to raise and parent eight children. This is a rare treat to have the Privettes share with the participants the tried and true nuggets of gold they have hammered out on the anvil of experience. Parents don’t miss this opportunity!

Financial Peace University has been used to literally help thousands of people get their finances on track. Whether you need a refresher or you need rescuing, FPU is Biblically based and most helpful for all who attend. Our own Bill and Summer Weinhardt will facilitate the video and discussion. Take note that no one is asked to divulge their own financial specifics, but participants will simply learn the tried and tested principles of financial freedom. Don’t miss this powerful study.

The International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention is leading a “Connect Training Conference” on Saturday, April 13th here at North Central. The event will include seminars and discussion related to cross cultural missions and church planting. Anyone and everyone in our church will benefit from this training. Mike and Kathy Weaver, who are former staff members here at NCBC are putting the team together that will teach the seminars. Registration includes Breakfast and Lunch on the day of training and all materials.

We are quickly paying off the short term construction loan on our new building. We are able to do this because the miraculous giving of our wonderful church family. I marvel at what the Lord is doing here, not only financially, but in evangelism and in discipleship.

My great joy is to Pastor such a wonderful congregation of believers,

Pastor Calvin
