Merry Christmas! What a wonderful time of year it truly is as we celebrate the birth of the Savior in Bethlehem. It is our prayer that Jesus is truly the center of this special season. It seems that it becomes easier and easier for the gospel to be pushed aside. Let’s not let that happen. Advent is the season that we expectantly wait and prepare for the celebration of the coming of Christ in the manger. His coming changed everything for mankind. Jesus was born, lived a perfect life, and died on the cross, becoming the sacrifice and payment for the sins of mankind. If we receive his forgiveness, we have the hope of heaven and the ability to see sin defeated in our own lives. I want to encourage you to get the free advent devotional Good News of Great Joy by John Piper to use during your family devotions. These great readings will help you keep Christ as the focus for you and your family. You can obtain it through a link on our website or Facebook page.
Our Sunday Morning Bible studies in December will center on the gospel and what happened on that first Christmas. Our children will help me put together a manger scene in the church and we will look at how each special person around the manger focused on the Lord Jesus and His glory. My prayer is that it will not only be a lesson heard but also a lesson seen.

A Smoky Mountain Christmas has quickly become a North Central favorite. The Privette family will lead us in Christmas carols and perform many special numbers, playing varied instruments. It is always a wonderful evening. Don’t miss it! It is scheduled for Sunday night, December 18th at 6pm.
We will have our annual Christmas Eve Candlelight & Lord’s Supper service on Saturday, December 24 at 5pm and we will worship together at 10:45 am on Christmas Morning! What a blessing it is that we actually will worship together on the day that we celebrate Jesus’ birth! Make your plans now to be in worship on Christmas morning. Your family will be blessed to be together in worship on that day!
I want to encourage you to give sacrificially toward our budget as we close out our financial year. Quite frankly, we need a tremendous December to meet every obligation that is before us. We had 2 major AC systems go out on us and our main Auditorium system needed unexpected maintenance in recent days. A year-end sacrificial gift will help us greatly!
I am blessed to have a Pastor’s perspective of God’s hand upon this precious fellowship of believers. We should never take for granted the work of the Lord in our church. People are getting saved and being discipled, and God’s Word is going forth on a weekly basis.
I will see you on Sunday if not before!
