Dear Church Family,
The coming of Jesus in the manger is
the time that God burst on the scene in
preparation for dying on the cross to
pay for the sins of mankind. This
payment of sin allows you and I to stand
forgiven before our Lord and have the
hope of heaven. Any giving that we do
at Christmas can hardly be compared to
the ultimate gift of salvation in Christ. What a special time.
I absolutely love this time of year.
We have some wonderful ministry opportunites for you,
your family, and for those you are trying to reach for Christ.
Mark these dates on your December calendars:
∗ December 7th at 6pm — Children’s Christmas Musical
∗ December 12 and 13th — Our Community Christmas Choir
will perform on Friday the 12th at the Tioga Town Center
from 6pm to 8pm. They will perform two concerts on
Saturday the 13th at the Oaks Mall at 11am and 1:15pm. I
encourage you to participate in this outreach to our
community by either singing in the choir or by being a part
of the crowd and looking for opportunities to share the
gospel with others.
∗ December 15th at 7pm — The Word of Life Collegians
present “Magi”. Call the office to get your free tickets!
∗ December 21 at 6pm — The Smoky Mountain Christmas
Concert with the Privette family.
∗ December 24 at 6pm—Christmas Eve Candlelight Service
The Partners in Education Food Drive gives us the
opportunity to feed hungry children in our county over the
Christmas holidays. These non perishables will be a blessing
to those in need. We are collecting on the 7th and the 14th.
Because we are in a partnership with our Hidden Oak
Elementary neighborhood school, we have this opportunity.
Every penny of the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for
International Missions goes into the IMB budget for
mobilizing missionaries overseas. This effort of Southern
Baptist Churches generates a huge part of the budget for
international missions for our convention. It is crucial to the
effort to push back the walls of darkness and reach the
unreached on our planet with the gospel. I encourage you to
give generously to this offering during December.
Sunday evening, December 28th we welcome Kenny and
Adrienne Simms to our service. They are headed to South
Africa in February and will be sharing their missions story
with our church. Let me encourage every member of our
fellowship to be here, especially our youth, to hear how
Jesus has led this sweet young couple to go overseas to make
a difference in the world.
Kelly and I and our family pray that you will have a
wonderful Christmas. You truly have blessed our family
with the privilege of serving here at North Central. You are a
wonderful people, a people committed to the Word of God
and committed to love our wonderful Savior.
