Merry Christmas!

Dear North Central Family,

The word “Advent” means “coming”. This time of the year we call “the Christmas season” is also spoken of as the “Advent season” by many believers around the world. The people before Christ waited in anticipation for the coming of the Messiah. We take these days now to look forward to the coming of Christmas day! At North Central during December we do everything we can to keep our focus on the Lord Jesus and the gospel coming to mankind. Christmas is such an awesome time. I don’t know of any time of the year that I love more than Christmas. We have many exciting gatherings planned to prepare us for Christmas.

On Sunday Mornings in December, I will be bringing a series of Bible Studies aimed at challenging us all to keep Christ at the center of Christmas. The theme of these studies is: He is Coming! December 6—Gospel Anticipation, December 13-Grace Extended, December 20-Glory Revealed, and after Christmas day on the 27th the Bible study is entitled-Grateful Living.

The first three of these messages lead up to the beautiful Christmas Eve Candlelight Service at 5pm on December 24th. Wow! You simply must make plans to attend this powerful service of Christmas Carols, Communion, and Scripture readings. I don’t know of a better investment of one hour on Christmas Eve than to be in this service. Bring your whole family, including guests from out of town. Look for others in your neighborhood or at work or school who could attend with you.

I want to encourage you to invite someone to be with you for the special Sunday Night events of December—especially the “The Heart of Christmas”—the Christmas Dinner Theatre. This is a first class event. A fantastic meal will be served to you at the table. The music will be inspiring and Jesus will be lifted up. I am personally excited about singing in this wonderful event. Tickets are on sale now.

Don’t forget the Preschool and Children’s Christmas Musical presentation on the 6th with Christmas cookies and cider following. What an awesome event.

On Sunday night, December 20th, the Privette Family will present the Annual “Smokey Mountain Christmas” concert. What a joy this service is–normally filled with unique musical surprises and awesome special music. This is a gift of love and music the Privettes give their church family every year!

We are also taking up our Lottie Moon Christmas offering for Missions during this month. Please give sacrificially to this offering, of which our goal is $20,000.00. Our Mission board has recently experienced some significant fiscal challenges and we want to do all that we can to keep providing for new missionaries to be sent. It is also very important that we finish the year strong in our budget giving and our Unhindered Campaign giving. Our church can realize it’s goals if every member and friend of North Central will commit to giving the tithe and help with the extra needs of Unhindered and the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for Missions.

Kelly and I wish you and your family a wonderful, Christ-centered Christmas. It is a joy to be your Pastor. Serving our Lord Jesus alongside you is an incredible joy and privilege.

Love in Jesus and

Merry Christmas!
