Meet Kris Woods!

Dear Church Family,

It is a wonderful honor to welcome Kristopher Woods as our new Associate Pastor/Youth and Families. We give Kris that title because Kris is not only working with the students in Middle School and High School, but he is working with the moms and dads and the entire family in his ministry. The home is where the greatest impact is made and Kris will reach youth even more as he helps the parents leverage their tremendous influence and God-given responsibility for the cause of Christ. Kris will also have an impact as time goes by on all of the families of North Central. We are so thrilled that Kris is with us.

Patrick Inglett, John Roberts, Joy Wright, Josh Muse, Brittany Sharra, Phillip Heitzler, Jamie Howard, Wayne Cheshire, Geoffrey Patterson, Pastor Calvin Carr and Mike Faircloth (who is with the Florida Baptist Convention) are headed to Cuba on September 24 through October 1 for a mission trip jointly sponsored by North Central and the Florida Baptist State Convention. We are going to a community in Cuba that was formed by farmers, fishermen, students, and housekeepers. We will participate in construction, VBS ministry to children, and services each evening. Please add us to your
prayer list.

Our church is participating in the trip by helping us raise $3,000.00 to cover the cost of the construction. Members of NCBC are designating their gifts to “Cuba Construction Costs” and placing them in the offering plate. Please give to this effort over and above your regular giving. Every Cuba team member is responsible for their own fee to go on the trip. Some of you have helped the team members raise their fee. Thank you for doing this. The $3,000.00 we are raising is in addition to the individual fees and will enable every member of North Central to have a part in the trip. These funds will outlive us as they will be used for building costs resulting in ongoing discipleship at the host church.

We are so thankful for the college students who are attending North Central. These students add great enthusiasm and spiritual impact for our fellowship. Our church has a long history of collegiate ministry.

We are beginning a marriage course on Wednesday nights beginning on September 14th called The Art of Marriage. Philip and Jennifer Steers will be the facilitators of this special class. It will meet in Room 208 beginning at 6pm. The teaching comes to us from Dennis Rainey’s Family Life Today ministry and is video-driven. I know this ministry and can tell you that it will be solid teaching for our adults who are not occupied in another Wednesday night ministry and are looking for a place to study God’s Word while our children or youth are in their programs. Take advantage of this course. It is only 6 weeks long.

It is truly a joy to be your Pastor. Your love for God’s Word is evident.

God Bless You!,

Pastor Calvin
