May 2013

Dear Church Family,

The events of Boston have reminded us that we are living in a changing world. Life in America as we know it is quickly changing to an unstable and dangerous future. Thankfully for the believer, we have the Lord Jesus who guides his children and somehow brings hope out of bad situations. People in Gainesville desperately need a relationship with Jesus for in that relationship, the forgiveness of sin is realized, and true life can actually begin.

David Ring will be with us on May 5 in our 10am Morning Worship service. David has one of the most powerful testimonies that I’ve ever heard. He has not allowed the effects of Cerebral Palsy to dominate his life and has seen God actually use his difficulties to bring victory. He will identify with your friends and family and I believe be able to communicate God’s love for them in a unique way. I encourage you to invite someone to be with you on May 5. Let’s not allow this opportunity to slip through the cracks.

Pray for our college students who are headed to Haiti for the College Mission Trip, May 4-12. Our students will be under the capable leadership of our College Director, Matt Seitz. Matt and our wonderful college ministry team are doing a fantastic job reaching out to the Santa Fe and UF students.

We will be dedicating babies on Mother’s Day, May 12. What a glorious time to welcome these little one and to put a priority on parenting.

May 26th is our annual Beach Baptism at Crescent Beach. We will meet at Frank Butler Park at 5 pm down by the ocean on the beach.

It is truly a joy to be your Pastor. The Lord is at work in our fellowship and for this we are grateful!
