Dear Church Family,
The Lord has commanded us to “make disciples”. It is not our job to simply create a large membership, have great worship services, keep everyone busy, and grow simply in number. Jesus made it crystal clear we are to “make disciples of all nations”. Max Barnett was the Baptist campus ministry director for 37 years at the University of Oklahoma. He poured his life into leaders on the campus who in turn poured their lives into others. The rest is history. Our International Mission Board has stated that more Missionaries came from University of Oklahoma to serve overseas than from any other state school in America.
Our church family has the opportunity to learn from Dr. Barnett on February 5th and 6th. The Disciple-Making Conference begins at 6:30 with a beautiful banquet prepared by Ann and Ben Davis. We will be blessed to hear from not only Dr. Barnett but also Dr. Waylon Moore who served as our Interim Pastor several years back. Dr. Moore has spoken in over 100 nations and was used of the Lord for 12 years to train all Southern Baptist missionaries in follow-up and discipleship. You don’t want to miss being a part of this event. We will conclude at 12 noon on Saturday the sixth. Registration envelopes are available at church during the services. Cost is only $7. Drop your registration in the offering plate or call the church office. Sunday, January 30 is the last Sunday to sign up.
I want to encourage all married couples to sign up for the Marriage Refresh Get Away with Jimmy and Kristen Scroggins, scheduled for August 29 and 30th 2016 at the beautiful Marriott Towne Place Suites in Winter Garden Florida. This will be a special time to get away and focus on this key relationship of the home. Robert Privette will lead us in worship. The cost is only $99 per couple and includes breakfast on Saturday morning and all sessions. Come and receive practical teaching for your marriage and just have a great time of fun with other NCBC couples. We will have a blast!
The Florida Baptist convention has enlisted our church to minister in Cuba September 24 through October 1. We will be doing construction work each morning, and doing children’s work and evangelism each afternoon and evening. This is a wonderful mission trip opportunity. Interested? Contact the church office. We will be limited to 10 folks who can go with us on this ministry opportunity.
I would ask you to be praying for me as I travel to Belize February 29 through March 4 to meet with Baptist leaders in Belize City about how we may partner with them to reach people in Belize. We are praying about taking a team to Belize this fall or summer to work in the churches there. Please be in prayer for this effort.
We are baptizing on Sunday morning February 7. If you or someone you know needs to be baptized please contact our church office so that you can be a part of the special service.
God is working in the life of our church in many wonderful ways. We are so grateful and thankful for his blessings on our church family. It is truly a joy to be your pastor
