Dear Church Family,
We have been having a Twists and Turns Summer! We have had some very special Wednesday night events that have brought our families together. The attendance has been fantastic for our Wednesday Night Supper and for our fellowship events this summer. As I write this article, we are preparing for a Backyard Bible Club to be held at Santa Fe Oaks Apartments across from the Santa Fe College campus. Our families will minister to the children of that community and invite them to be a part of our Vacation Bible School. All this summer we have been participating in special events. All of this will end in a fantastic Waterpark Wednesday scheduled for Wednesday night, July 19. Each of these Wednesdays we have had Bible Study and Prayer Meeting at 4:00, our Wednesday Night Supper at 5:00, and then special events that happen afterwards. Waterpark Wednesday is also combined with the culmination of our summer reading program. Mrs. Dee and the leaders in our library have done a great job challenging our children and adults to read and the 19th of July is the night they get their prizes. Don’t miss being a part of Twists and Turns Summer!
Vacation Bible School is scheduled for July 10-14. There’s still time to get a child who’s finished Kindergarten through the 5th grade involved in our VBS. What a great week this is as we study God’s word and encourage our children to know Jesus as Lord and Savior! You can sign up your children on our church website.
Our youth camp is scheduled for July 23-27. “The New Self” is the theme and Ephesians 4:24 is the theme verse, “and to put on the new self, the one created according to God’s likeness in righteousness and purity of the truth.” Our brand-new Youth Pastor Brandon Glisson has done a fantastic job in putting together this great camp. It is going to be very special. Parents can go to our church website to register for camp. It’s important that you get registered immediately so that we can prepare for this magnificent week!
We look forward to beginning a new series July 9 in the book of Genesis. We are going to highlight some key passages in this book of beginnings. It is going to be a great time as we study together on Sunday mornings in our main worship service.
July 30 is our Life Group Fellowship/Family Breakfast. We are doing this one a little bit differently. Most of these times our children and youth go into their Life Groups and the adults meet together. This is one time that we are going to all fellowship together by families. We encourage you at 9:30 to bring your children and for us all to gather in the main auditorium for a Life Group breakfast. Bring a breakfast item to share with everyone. Tables will be set up so that families can sit down and eat together. This will be a special time for everyone in the Life Group ministry to be together. So often our preschool, children, and youth leadership miss this time, and so we want them to be there. It’s our way of saying how much we appreciate them! Looking forward to us all being together on Sunday morning, July 30 at 9:30 in the main auditorium for our Life Group Family Breakfast.
Please pray for the construction of our entryway to our auditorium. Things are about to begin. The construction management team at Foresight Construction has been working very hard to obtain the proper permits and authorizations to begin. These things take time. It is going to be a great blessing to our church when this construction is finished. Would you pray about this construction, that God’s hand would be upon it?
Let’s congratulate Brandon and Emily! They were married this past Saturday on July 1 and are on their honeymoon as I write this article. We look forward to their return and them getting to know all the families of our fellowship. We have such a precious fellowship of believers!
