July Happenings

On Sunday night, June 22, we had a fantastic mission’s night, discussing all the ways in which our fellowship can share the message of Jesus. I recently heard an archived message by Dr. Billy Graham, who spoke in 1982 at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. He emphasized the importance of the cross being central to our gospel. Make no mistake about it—No cross means No gospel! The gospel is the gift of God’s grace made possible by the shed blood of our Lord Jesus at the cross. We must make sure that our message is solidly tied to the cross of Christ.

Don’t miss these special times to invite someone to join you at church:

Each Sunday Morning we are studying under the heading “Ready to give an answer.” You may have friends who seem hung up on these issues that others have asked down through the ages. I encourage you to listen to our North Central Podcast to help those who may have questions. Also, your involvement in these worship services will help to equip you to share with others.

Don’t forget our Summer Nights at 6pm!  On June 6th we will have our annual Praising. Come for the spaghetti supper (all proceeds go to help defray expenses at our youth camp). July 13th we will celebrate the Lord’s Supper together. What a special time this is. July 20 is what we are calling “Waterpark” Sunday. We will have activities for our children. We will also have the world’s longest “slip n slide”. July 27th is the Sunday immediately prior to the beginning of VBS.

Please be praying for two major outreach events for the life of our church this month. Youth Camp will take place in Daytona Beach, Florida, July 14-18. Our students will be privileged to hear Louie Giglio and be led in worship by Chris Tomlin. These two have combined to influence the next generation as effectively as anyone sharing today. I am excited that the Lord has made it possible for us to go. Make sure to get your students signed up for Camp 2014.

Vacation Bible School is scheduled for July 28-August 1st. Wow! How can we measure the impact of VBS? So many seeds of the gospel have been planted in this week dedicated to our children. You don’t want to miss having your children plugged in to this wonderful week.

Mark some special future dates on your calendar: August 24 we are having Denver and the Mile High Orchestra. This amazing group of musicians will be here to encourage us and lead us in worship. They are AMAZINGLY gifted. Don’t miss this night. Also, September 14 Dr. Norman Geisler will be here to preach in both the morning and the evening services. Dr. Geisler is the author of over 100 books. He is considered an expert in the area of Biblical Apologetics. He will challenge us to live closer to Jesus and understand the great teachings of the Bible. We will have a love offering for both of these special guests.

It is truly a joy to be your pastor. I am a blessed pastor to preach and lead such a wonderful congregation. May the power and presence of the Lord rest upon you and your family.
