January 29 // North Central to the Nations

Happy New Year North Central!

NCBC has been a hiatus for a bit with the holidays and some crazy personal circumstances, but we have a lot of awesome things in the works to be announced in the next few weeks! This week, I am excited to kick off the 2021 edition of this newsletter with another update from the field by our very own Andrew and Alexa Hudson! God is using this incredible couple in some amazing ways, and I hope you enjoy hearing from them as much as I did.

Hello, NCBC!

Greetings from San Diego. We are delighted with what God is doing through our ministry with Compass Church and are so grateful for your prayers and support! We have now been here for three months and have transitioned well to life in California.

Things are still fairly closed off due to COVID-19, including many San Diego State University activities, but we have still seen fruit coming from our ministry efforts. Since we arrived in late October, our church has had two young women commit their lives to Christ and later this month we’ll witness our third baptism! Students just returned for the Spring semester, so we have started doing campus outreach regularly again. Even though classes are online, there are still plenty of students out there for us to meet and share the gospel with. We are hosting welcome events for students as well, so you can pray that they are interested and receptive!

For new church members who are interested in discipleship, we have a five-week Follow Jesus Course (FJC) that they can go through to prepare them. We will start a round of FJC for new people next month, and Andrew will be leading the weekly meeting! He has been helping lead worship every week and has also taken lead on the Compass social media team, controlling posting and trying to reach more people online. Alexa has taken on expanded roles administratively with the church and has led with our women’s ministry and community outreach.

We have developed great friendships with the rest of our staff here, along with a lot of our church members. While we miss our friends and family dearly, we are so happy with where God has brought us and all He’s called us to.

Please pray that we would continue to find people who are open to the gospel and commit their lives to Christ. Also pray that God would give us courage and boldness to share with the lost and for us to stay encouraged even in times of difficulty.
