We kicked off the beginning of 2017 with a great hour of worship! What a great way to start the new year. The Scripture teaches us that “all things have become new.” (2 Cor. 5:17) The new year is a great opportunity to evaluate last year and set some goals for the new year! Let me encourage you to get on a Bible reading plan. We have a good one in the back of the auditorium for your taking. Last week we completely ran out. Folks were coming up and asking for copies so if you need one check at the back of the auditorium. Also, I handed out copies of a great “2016 year-end Journal of God’s Work in and through your life” that Dr. Waylon Moore sent me that I hope you received. Great tools to get the year started off right.
I’m looking forward to continuing our series of Bible studies in the book of Judges on Sunday morning and on the subject of the promises of God on Sunday nights. Pray that these Bible studies will help us grow in Jesus.
Shaken is the new study that has been written by Tim Tebow. Our High School students are studying this on Wednesday nights. Our Middle Schoolers are back in their exciting TREK study as well. Wednesday nights are in full swing! Our adult prayer meeting and Bible studies are powerful times in the Word. We are studying 1 Corinthians, chapter by chapter. There are several new things being offered on Wednesdays as well. Bill Reese is offering a cancer support group for the families and patients that are facing this challenge. They meet on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month in room 208. The Art of Marriage is a tremendous marriage course that begins on Feb. 8 for couples at 6 pm on Wednesday nights. What tremendous material this is for couples. I highly recommend this to you.
Our ladies are going through a new Beth Moore study beginning on Thursday night, January 12 in the Fellowship Hall. I encourage our ladies to take part in this time of fellowship and study.
Our Life Group leadership team is meeting on Sunday afternoon, January 15 at 5 pm. I encourage all of our fellowship to plug into a Life group. This is part of the disciple-making process here at North Central.
We are having NCBC 101 on Sunday morning, January 29th at 9:30 am. This is for all new members and for those who are interested in membership at North Central.
Our men are headed to the Johnny Hunt Men’s Conference on Feb 3-4 in Woodstock, GA. I know of no one more passionate about the gospel impacting men than Brother Johnny. He preaches with conviction and the power of the Holy Spirit. I look forward to spending this special time with these men. I have rooms reserved at a great rate at the Hampton Inn in Alpharetta.
Pray for our Youth Disciple-Now weekend scheduled for Feb. 24-26. Brother Kris Woods has a power-packed weekend planned for our students that will challenge them in their spiritual lives.
What a great joy it is to be your Pastor. Let’s look for people who need to know that Christ is real and share with them the wonderful message
