Last Sunday, Evangelist Junior Hill shared with us a simple message from 2 Corinthians 4:3-4 which says, “But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.” Oh my! Heaven came down! What a joy to see the power of Jesus touch lives. And then on Sunday night-you miss a great blessing when you miss Sunday night-a man came forward and said to me, “I was driving past this church and I just felt that I had to come in, so I turned around, and came into the service.” He wept through the entire service and at the invitation came forward, and our decision counselor led him to Christ. Others are praying with him about discipleship. These are great days of opportunity in the life of our church.
I’m excited about what the Lord Jesus is doing in the lives of our teenagers! Last Sunday we had 40 in attendance in our youth Sunday School! Recently the students came to our home for a fellowship and what a success it was! Don’t let your students miss these awesome days. We’ve never had more wonderful leaders wanting to help us with our youth ministry. What a team! I encourage you to involve your students in our Wednesday night youth worship. God’s Word is taught! In March we will begin a 10 week emphasis we are calling “Solid”. We are going to do everything we can to encourage our students to follow Jesus in their daily lives. We have some adult leaders who are preparing to invest in the lives of these students. What a joy to watch it all happen!
Baptism is scheduled for Feb 23 in the morning worship service. This is the first act of obedience in following Jesus Christ! If you need to be baptized, don’t put it off! Give us a call in the office to sign up for baptism.
NCBC 101 is being offered on February 2 and 16th for anyone interested in knowing more about our church or for our newest members. You can call the church office to sign up.
Be praying about Mission Trips happening soon. A group is headed to Brazil-Feb 21 –March 2 to minister to our Southern Baptist Missionaries during their strategy meeting. This is a huge need being met by our folks. And then on May 5-20 our college ministry is headed to Turkey. Let’s commit to pray for these two opportunities.
My firstborn son Paul gets married to Amanda Collinson on February 8th. We are thrilled! Pray for the Carrs! Every turn in life for a family reminds me that we must put Christ first in our lives. Nothing is more important than relationships in which we can love people and share Jesus’ love, and no relationship is more important and precious than those with our own children.
It is a joy to be your pastor!
