Dear Church Family,
Resurrection Sunday is April 5th. What a wonderful day to worship our risen Savior! I want to encourage you to bring someone with you on Easter Sunday! In all the work that has been done to grow churches it has been discovered that the personal invitation of church members is the number 1 reason that people visit. Folks, that is you and I. We must be on the lookout for those around us that don’t have a church home. Most are unbelievers, but some are just unchurched and need a church family. Easter is the one Sunday that many of them will come-believers and unbelievers alike. As much as they want to come, most will not come on their own. They need a personal invitation. That is where you and I come in. If we want them to come, we must invite them. Why don’t you make sure that you have someone with you on Easter Sunday?
Following Easter Sunday, our fellowship has some wonderful events with your growth and encouragement in mind. April 12 is called “A Night of the Classics: A Hymn Sing” which will take place in the evening service. Wow! This will be a power packed night as we worship together. April 19th is our NCBC 101 class. Want to know more about North Central? Come to this special event for all guests and new Members from 9:30am–Noonpm on Sunday the 19th. You’ll hear all about the church family, how we are organized, what we do and why we do it. Sunday April 26th is Orange Bucket Sunday. We will give these out on Easter and our folks will fill the bucket with imperishable items that will be used to feed families from our community who need food for the Summer. On May 3 we will have a church-wide Sunday School Breakfast in the classrooms. Your Sunday School Classes will be putting together a wonderful breakfast for you on this special day. Then, we will all gather for worship on May 9th for Mother’s Day.
Be praying for our Youth Camp, scheduled for July 20-24, 2015 at beautiful Lake Yale Baptist Assembly Campground. I came to know Jesus at Lake Yale. This is a special place for me and I want our youth to experience this amazing camp. Over 700 students from all over our state will gather for this camp. Our students will experience Paintball, low ropes and high ropes courses, lakeside activities, climbing walls and so much more. Brian Burgess will be the preacher for the week. He is on staff with Clayton King and the Crossroads ministry. I will be attending the camp with our students along with our fine youth ministry leadership team. Students who have completed grades 6 through 12 are invited to attend. Registration information should have arrived by now but is also available at the church office.
Our Children’s Ministry is teaming up with Child Evangelism Fellowship for a Family Fun Festival, scheduled for Saturday, May 9th from 1-5:30pm. Bounce houses, refreshments, and a concert by Jana Alayra await all of our children and their families on this special day. Don’t miss it. Bring someone with you to this great outreach….
I want you to be praying for many in our college ministry who will be participating in mission opportunities in the next few months. Some are ministering in the US and some overseas. Let’s lift these mission teams up to the Lord Jesus in prayer…
What a joy it is to be your pastor. It is my joy to bring you the Word and serve along side you as we “Reflect Christ’s Light on Gainesville and the World.”
