December Happenings!

The Lord Jesus in the manger at Bethlehem was God’s most wonderful gift to all of mankind. Think of it-God Himself initiating His love toward sinners! God has always taken the initiative. In the garden of Eden, after the sin of Adam and Eve, God made them coverings. The Lord sought for them. When Peter sinned by denying Jesus, the resurrected Lord purposed to bring redemption to him. Jesus is constantly reaching out to man. Why? It is his unfailing love for lost mankind.

May we have that same heart for lost people that Jesus modeled for us. The Holy Spirit of God lives in believers to produce a “God kind of love”. Look for those around you that need to know of the love of Jesus. Be bold to speak and show the gospel in word and deed. We have some wonderful opportunities this Christmas season if we will invite our friends and family to attend special services here. We will look at special Christmas messages during our morning services in December. Sunday nights are packed with special events: The Children’s Christmas music (Dec 2), the Christmas Dinner Theater (Dec 9), the Smokey Mountain Christmas (Dec 16). All of these worship services would be great for guests!

I encourage you to give sacrificially to the Lottie Moon Christmas offering. Our church goal is $22,000.00. 100% of these funds go to our Southern Baptist mission effort around the world.

Our new Educational Building will be ready in the very near future. We believe that we will be able to occupy the building by year’s end! Think about what the Lord has done! I praise our Lord for the faithful giving of our people to the Above and Beyond project. Let me ask you to continue your faithful giving to this most needed project.

As we move toward 2013, lets pray about how we can strategically reach this city with the Gospel of Jesus, using this wonderful building. It will take more prayer, more going, more sowing of the seed than ever before. People need Jesus and we have the opportunity and facility to expand our outreach. Will you pray with me about how we can enlarge our efforts to get the gospel to the lost of Gainesville? Don’t be surprised when the Lord nudges your heart to take on a special assignment in your church. We will need all of the body of Christ to function if we are to have our greatest impact. You are a part, a very vital part, of this fellowship.

On behalf of Kelly and our entire family, I pray that you will have a wonderful Christmas! May we be modern day wise men—who will bring our very lives and lay them at the feet of our Savior.

May God’s richest blessings rest on the wonderful North Central Baptist Church family.
